Smiles 4 is a continuation of the Smileys 1-3 course. The four-part structure of the course (Smileys 1-3 + Smiles 4) will make it easier for the teacher to choose the level of the textbook according to the abilities and needs of a given group of students. The most important features of the series: precisely implements all the requirements of the new core curriculum; gradually, in a way adapted to the age of students, it leads to the achievement of linguistic competence at a level appropriate for the first stage of education and prepares for learning in the next stage of education; teaches through play, offering a wide range of different exercises, comic-book stories, melodic songs, nursery rhymes, projects, art works, etc.; supports the emotional and social development of the child, as well as awakens the passion for learning; skillfully integrates learning English with content from other areas of study (Time for CLIL sections in each module); introduces elements of knowledge about English-speaking countries in an interesting way for students (sections of Smileys Magazine: Our World in each module); promotes reading for pleasure through picture stories based on fairy tales from around the world (Storytime sections); encourages students to self-assess their progress and teaches independence (Check Point sections after each module); facilitates vocabulary learning thanks to mini-picture dictionaries at the beginning of each module and a glossary at the end of the textbook; sensitizes to matters related to environmental protection (My Green Passport sections); beautiful, fabulously colorful graphic design (both in the textbook and in the exercise book) encourages learning; it is a perfect combination of printed and digital material; the teacher can conduct lessons using interactive whiteboard software, and the student can use an interactive e-book, i.e. a digital textbook. The workbook is a full-color publication containing exercises that allow you to consolidate the language material contained in the various modules of the handbook.
